Also: tonight on the Rising Tide the special guests are Hermit Convention and New Bengal Spice. The show goes 830-1030, i think with interviews/performance around 930. but lee plays rad tunes the whole time so listen in.
I spent almost 200 bux on blank tapes today. the rest of february is going to be very busy.
FEB 20th=palm yard craft night + release show at pergs with splinters and sandwitches
MARCH 3rd=tyred eyes + groggs split, and i'll be at the groggs show with Harlem at the crepe place, attempting to sell tapes out of my messenger bag.
Whatever craig and peter say on the radio tonight is the release date for their split. probably at the next hermit show.

JANUARY NEWS
Ten Nine Teen News - One slash Nine Teen slash Oh Ten:
1. The Palm Yard debut Full Length Album entitled "CRAFT NIGHT" is almost finished mixing. OH! is being a real bitch about sounding good so we're up to mix version 2.7 or something. The other 11.5 songs are amazing. It sounds better than we ever were as a band I think... C37 tape due out Valentines Day, with a release show in Santa Cruz somewhere.
2. Whilst you wait for Craft Night, perhaps you'd like to hear what it would sound like if Kanye West fronted a shitgaze band? HERE: palmyeezy.muxtape.com/
3. Last Palm Yard tidbit: We played oakland on sunday as part of a ridiculous 6 band line-up. Some pictures are up here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/bignothing1021/sets/72157603572827591/detail/ and a live recording of our FIRST SHOW IN 6 MONTHS will be up on the mediafire this week. www.mediafire.com/1019records ;
4. Other Future tapes: Tyred Eyes/The Groggs split and the very long awaited New Bengal Spice/Hermit Convention split ep will be out in the second half of february. A collection of experimental recordings by Maus Haus will see the light of day in March, along with a split between Batalj of Sweden and Roundabout of Santa Cruz. Dylan from Man/Miracle might be sending us some home recordings to put out, and tape releases have been discussed with The Broads, Green Flash, Mountain Animal Hospital, and probably another band I can't remember right now?
5. Our web presence/personal branding still sucks. This site is being assembled to handle credit/debit/paypal: www.1019records.bigcartel.com and the all-text version of 1019 dot com will become some sort of mail-order service. I really truly dislike computers...been reading this book titled "Our Noise" about Merge recs, the glory days of xeroxing balance sheets and harassing distros by phone for money. Highly recommended.

Think Black Lips but less Southern and more Sweden.
They have a 5 track cd-r ep up on their myspace,
it's a very refreshing burst of sound;
it gives me hope that there are still musical gestures and statements that are worth making with guitar drums and bass,
this sound is not tame. it is not perfect.
it is really good.
